...and... Oh well, news !

A) On me:

Sooooo, I am back.
As some of you may already know, my neck is a pain in the... neck, bwahahahah (joke! ) and is preventing me to continue my carreer in the Army, at least for the moment and for what I was planning to do...

It is quite a disappointment, and there are a lot of things I am going to miss, such as :

- going in the guys dorm (for some obscure reasons such as checking they have put their names down the list for the permissions) when I know they are taking their shower and enjoy the show,
- GUNS !!
- making stupid jokes with friends at 4 o'clock in the morning while being under the attack of other friends,
- the food at the Academy restaurant,
- my friends,
- the smell of my feet after having spent four days in the forest without having been able to wash,
- my friends,
- GUNS !!
- the Nuclear, Chemical and Bacteriological classes with all the pictures of people looking like steaks....,
- the chief's "sentence of the day",
- did I mention guns and friends...? ... ect

There are also things I won't miss:
- not sleeping, not eating, not washing for too long, being yelled at,
- develooping strange diseases I have never heard off because of lack of food, sleep, personal hygiene...
- misogynic remarks,
- the smell of other people's feet after having spent four days in the forest without having been able to wash.

But there is still hope ! ^^ My chiefs agreeded for me to join the September cession. The trouble is my neck may not be cured by then... -_-''
Bah, at least I will be able to attend the ball in July at the "Triumph". Several guys invited me...

B) On DeviantArt :

I read quickly *cough* several journals about a law on art, and I received notes on the subject as well. I did not get everything, so does anyone would mind explaining me ?
I understood it has to do with intellectual property ( a concept which has always made me feel ill-at-ease because it turns art into nothing else than a mere consumption good...) but apart from that...

C) On Discworld:

I just realised yesterday it has been 10 YEARS I have been reading the awesome, incredible and magnificient Discworld series by the noneless awesome, incredible and magnificient Terry Pratchett. It is a bit silly to say, but these books had truly been A Revelation for me (tadaaaa! ).

Indeed, beside the humour and original stories (the Oxford Times described Pratchett as the best humoristic writer of the 20th Century, and this is well deserved!), there is always a deeper dimension (usually, a sociological one...) which make me think they should definitely been studied in school.

I was rather shocked to learn a few months ago Mr Pratchett had been diagnosed with Alzheimer. I have seen the effects of such disease on people around me and this is very, very sad...

I hope at least Pterry's work will go to posterity, which is already on a good way with the preparation of the second TV movie based on his books. The first one was the great "Hogfather", and soon will be released "The Colour of Magic" - with Jeremy Iron as Lord Vetinari !! : [link]

D) On World News:

1) MUPS AT THE OLYMPICS !!

The Epic travel of the Olympic flame make me laugh hard.
I have always depised the Olympic Games, which are technically hostile to any kind of debate on the fond (because they tend to divide people) and prefer great "incantatory" ceremonies in the name of sport... Yeah, sport, my ASS !
And here goes AGAIN the debate on freedom of expression, which enables me to AGAIN express my opinion on the matter: people should always be able to express their opinion and f*** to those who don't like it!

2) SPAGHETTI WESTERN:

Today was election day in Italy, to vote for their new government after the former one, from the Left, lost his majority in Parliament.
Apparently, the Party of Mr Silvio Berlusconi, 72 year-old, may win, which will grant him a third mandate at the head of the Italian Council...

I feel very sorry for the other European leaders, among whose Chancellor Angela Merkel from Germany, who will have to deal with both Crazy Berlusconi and Bling Bling French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Good luck, ma'am, you will need it !
